Sparks Intelligentia a two-day technical festival will now be held on June 25th and 26th 2021. This being the first technical festival of Malla Reddy University focusing on bringing out the spirit of innovation and technology, creating a knowledge sharing environment for the computer science students in India.

Through this Symposium we invoke to provide a platform for the students to exhibit their skills in a plethora of events in virtual mode, designed to exercise their minds which is the utmost beneficial to the student’s community.

Paper Presentation

Spell Bee


Contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of words, usually with a varying difficulty. To compete, contestants must memorize the spellings of words as written in the dictionaries, and spell them accordingly.

  • The speller need to spell the word in 20 seconds.

  • The judge(s) determines whether the word was spelled correctly.

  • If the spelling is correct, the speller remains in the game.

Each speaker must typically do the following:

First Affirmative

  • Contextualize the debate - clearly set out your team's interpretation of the topic and the significant issues they disagree with.

  • Provide definitions if necessary.

  • Outline the team line and the team split - this is where you outline your team's case and summaries the way your arguments have been divided between your speakers.

  • Provide 2-3 arguments supporting the motion.

First Negative

  • Re-contextualize the debate and resolve any definitional issues - if you have disagreements with the definition given by the Affirmative these must be handled immediately. If you want to challenge the definition, then you must prove that you have the most appropriate definition. There are three main steps in a definitional challenge:

1.Clearly state your definition

2.Provide your arguments as to why this is the superior definition

3.Rebut the Affirmative's arguments supporting their definition

  • Outline a team line and team split.

  • Rebut the arguments made by the First Affirmative.

  • Deliver 2-3 arguments against the motion.
