HoD's Message

The Head of the Department of RIT emphasizes a commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and student development. The department strives to provide quality education, practical exposure, and research opportunities to prepare students for successful careers.

On behalf of the Department of Radiology and Imaging Technology, we extend our warm greetings to all faculty members, staff, students, and stakeholders. The Undergraduate programme in Radiology and Imaging Technology is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in medical imaging sciences and to develop essential technical and professional skills required in modern healthcare settings. The undergraduate curriculum introduces students to the principles and practices of various imaging modalities such as X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and basic interventional procedures. Emphasis is placed on patient care, radiation safety, equipment handling, and ethical practices, ensuring that students develop both technical competence and professional responsibility. Our goal is to prepare graduates who are confident, skilled, and capable of supporting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures effectively.

“The primary focus of our Radiology department is to enable undergraduate students to understand the fundamentals of multi-modality medical imaging technology and its clinical applications.”

Our department is committed to the overall development of students by providing excellent infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, and experienced faculty members who guide students through both theoretical learning and practical training. Clinical exposure forms an integral part of the undergraduate programme, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in real healthcare environments. In addition to academic learning, we encourage a career-oriented approach through hospital postings, internships, workshops, and skill-based training programmes. These opportunities help students understand current industry requirements and enhance their employability. Students are also motivated to pursue higher education and specialization in Radiology and Imaging Technology to further expand their career prospects.

Our institute is supported by its own multi-specialty hospitals and has collaborations with reputed hospitals and research institutions. These tie-ups provide students with exposure to advanced imaging equipment, experienced clinicians, and skilled technical teams, thereby strengthening their practical knowledge and clinical confidence. The members of our department are dedicated to maintaining high academic standards and fostering a supportive learning environment. We take pride in nurturing competent undergraduate professionals who are prepared to meet the challenges of the healthcare industry.

We are confident that the Undergraduate programme in Radiology and Imaging Technology will offer a comprehensive and enriching educational experience, laying a strong foundation for a successful and rewarding career in the field of medical imaging.
