About Horticulture

The programme B. Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture includes study of fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices, mushrooms, medicinal plants, and Aromatic plants which all are produced and maintained by the horticulture department. Compared to the traditional crops that farmers plant, the cultivation of horticulture crops is a highly specialized, technological, and lucrative endeavor. Since this industry has been recognized as profitable for land use diversification, which offers more employment opportunities and better return per unit area in addition to meeting nutritional shortages, horticulture development has taken on growing importance in recent years.
